Mark Greathouse
Multiple-award-winning author Mark Greathouse’s love for the Western genre draws upon his deep family roots and love of the outdoors, honed from teen years spent hiking the Appalachian Trail and family travels across America’s frontier. He hopes his work reveals his passion for America’s western history. A member of Western Writers of America, Mark also contributes articles on America’s frontier history to Western-themed magazines. He was recognized as a 2025 WWA Spur Finalist for “Prairie Dog,” a short story featured in Tumbleweed Tumblings: Western Tales and Verses; was the 2024 International Impact Book Award Winner for Perilous Trails: Jack’s Adventure Begins; and was a 2024 Finalist in the Western genre by the American Literary Book Awards for his sixth Tumbleweed Saga, Nueces Truth: Texans Face War’s Realities.
Mark began writing full time after a successful career as a business executive and later as an entrepreneurial investor and advisor. He holds a BA in English and MBA in marketing. Mark also donates time and books annually to support military warriors. He has been a Boy Scout leader (Eagle Scout), served on a local school board, and led a chamber of commerce and nonprofit organizations to success.
Mark is driven to answer the call of his readers and decided to extend the Tumbleweed Sagas series, building on protagonist Texas Ranger Luke Dunn’s legendary legacy as his son Junior takes on the badge and follows in his father’s footsteps. He has also prayerfully embarked on a series of Western novels aimed at adventure-minded young adults while weaving a Christian message within their fabric. His Frontier Chronicles, featuring Jack O’Toole are aimed at lighting fires of truth, faith, hope, and life purpose in the bellies of today’s young adults. The follow-on Wolf’s Quest series features the adventurous vision quest of O’Toole’s son. Just as seeds must be sown to reap the harvest, so the seeds of faith must be planted to raise tomorrow’s men and women. Visit Mark’s website at www.MarkGreathouseAuthor.com.
