Douglas Moquin

Douglas Moquin has been a resident of Florida ever since he separated from the United States Army in the late 1980s. Most recently, he has retired from law enforcement, after nearly thirty years of service, where he had the distinct honor of serving his community as a corrections officer, patrol deputy, bomb team technician, and training sergeant.

A native of Massachusetts, Doug grew up in the Northshore region, and still enjoys many ties to the place of his origin. He takes a great interest in the history of New England, and has become an amateur historian, studying its rich and fascinating past. Doug has traveled the region extensively, from Plymouth, Massachusetts, to Bar Harbor, Maine, and has a special fondness for historical towns in his home state, such as Deerfield, Newburyport, and Salem, MA—where he was born. His first novel, Sworn to Darkness, combines elements of an actual, but largely forgotten, bygone era, his own childhood experiences, and the supernatural, into a fast-paced and heart-pounding story. He is currently working on a second book, which also has its setting in old New England—a place where myths, legends, and tales of the paranormal seem to abound.

An avid martial artist, Doug has been a student of a number of martial systems, including, Aikido, Kung Fu, Tai Chi, Karate, and Krav Maga. He is also an ardent outdoorsman, who enjoys canoeing, hiking, fishing, and bicycling. Doug lives with his loving family in the Central Florida area where he writes, works, and plans new and fascinating adventures.
